Hyundai is preparing to expand its SUV portfolio with a new crossover that will be positioned above the Venue and below the Creta, filling a gap in a lineup that currently jumps straight from its sub-4-metre entry SUV to its best-selling midsize model. A dedicated in-between model would let Hyundai capture buyers who find the Venue too basic but aren't ready to pay Creta money.
This move comes as Hyundai navigates a competitive stretch — the brand recently slipped to No. 4 in FY26 domestic sales rankings, and a genuinely new segment entry could help it reclaim volume rather than relying solely on facelifts to existing models.
We'll update this piece with confirmed specifications, positioning and launch timing once Hyundai makes an official announcement.
