Kia Syros EV Unveiled: 169 BHP Motor, Up to 526km Range

Highlights

  • The Kia Syros EV has been officially unveiled with a 169 BHP electric motor
  • Claimed range is up to 526km on a full charge
  • This confirms the Syros EV as real, moving beyond the rumour-stage speculation we tracked earlier

Kia has officially unveiled the Syros EV, confirming a 169 BHP electric motor and a claimed range of up to 526km. The unveiling moves the electric Syros from speculation to a confirmed reality, following the petrol/diesel Syros that already slots between the Sonet and Seltos in Kia's India lineup.

We were tracking this as an open question in our earlier Kia Syros piece, which laid out what Kia had confirmed versus what remained rumour at the time. With the EV variant now officially unveiled, remaining questions shift to India-specific pricing, launch timeline and charging infrastructure support rather than whether the model exists at all.

A 526km claimed range, if it holds up under real-world testing standards rather than a lab-only cycle, would be a genuinely competitive figure in the compact electric SUV segment — worth watching for confirmed independent test figures once the car reaches reviewers.
