The Tata Altroz EV is expected to launch in India sometime between August 2026 and early 2027, built on Tata's newer Acti.EV platform that underpins other recent Tata electric models. Using a shared, already-proven EV platform rather than a bespoke one-off architecture typically speeds up development and helps keep production costs more predictable.
An electric Altroz would give Tata Motors an EV option in the premium hatchback segment, complementing its stronger SUV-focused EV lineup and arriving at a time when Tata just posted its highest-ever monthly EV sales.
