Tata Motors has announced that more than 2.5 lakh of its TATA.ev electric cars are now running on Indian roads, a milestone reflecting sustained volume across its EV lineup rather than reliance on a single standout model. Tata has held a commanding lead in India's electric passenger car segment for several years, largely by getting to market early and building out a broad electric portfolio ahead of most rivals.
This milestone arrives alongside a broader industry trend of rising EV adoption, with India's overall EV sales crossing 3 lakh units in 2025 across all vehicle categories.
